GOOD REDEMPTION SUNDAY - DECEMBER 27, 2020 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 1. What do I need to confess? If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 2. Who do I need to forgive? “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Matthew 18:21-22 3. Are there agreements I need to break? There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 4. Are their wounds I need God to heal? The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17-18 5. Is there shame I need to speak? Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16 6. Are there lessons I need to learn? God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training, the normal experience of children. Hebrews 12:7-8 7. Is there a testimony for me to share? The God of all comfort comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. II Corinthians 1:3-4 We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:3-5
